time’s been rolling along! i can’t believe we’ve made it to the single digit weeks countdown! and i can’t believe my first shower is tonight! a baby shower for me? so surreal! baby shopping and product comparing has taken over our lives. i’m constantly noticing what baby products people are using when i see them in public now. our car seat is on its way (yay!) and so is the frame to an old bugaboo stroller brett accidentally won on ebay. that boy and ebay, he can’t be trusted. we’ll see how this stroller idea works out. his plan is to piece it together part by part which sounds pretty ghetto if you ask me…
i’m still feeling and sleeping great (and only one pee break a night). my hands are drier than they usually get during the even the winter, i’ve looked down a couple time to see them cracked and bleeding even! the only thing i can guess is that all this going to the bathroom and hand washing is to blame. pretty much anytime i stand up from sitting for a long time, the pressure from her weight makes me need to pee. and every step to the bathroom makes her feel heavier and heavier! she still gets the hiccups every day and i’ve started to be able to feel actual body parts in there which is exciting! i can’t tell exactly what, but usually my guess is her bum. my last doctor’s appointment was a bust because my doctor had to cancel and i got switched to someone else, but it was nice to see i’m still right on for weight gain (up 20 lbs total) since i’d gained 4 lbs in two weeks at my last appointment! still crossing my fingers (and rubbing my belli oil/lotion on daily) that how i carry will help keep those stretch marks away!
my view looking down these days. there’s a baby in there! so strange!
we went to orlando last month and got lots of hand me down clothes from katie and her sister (from newborn to 4T!) and scoped out the kid stuff at ikea. this picture of the ikea finger puppets we bought just cracks me up. like the shark is telling the rest a joke. i also imagine they’re all too scared of him to not laugh at the punch line. after our trip to orlando we went to brett’s mom’s at the beach since bill and katie were down visiting. i’m loving the mullet look the wind turned my pony tail into.our friends natalie and stephen sent us the sweetest package of baby goods. it makes me so excited for dressing baby girl! and that card! i’m such a sucker for anything anna bond! and in shopping for her package back (her baby boy came yesterday yay!) i finally let myself buy some things for lily. gotta love the classics. stripes and 80′s colors. we really need to find a dresser to start getting her stuff organized! i’m obsessed with mid century modern dressers… and brett… not so much. we’ve got a long life ahead of us!
i’m still plugging away at work, and the big question now is: is part time from home going to be a possibility?
